TWO Newport brothers are cycling more than 1,000 miles in aid of a charity close to their hearts.
Tom and Ben Redman set off from John O'Groats on Saturday and are cycling all the way to Land's End in ten days.
The brothers are completing the challenge in memory of Tom's father-in-law Graham Barwell who died last July.
Mr Barwell battled myasthenia gravis, an auto-immune disease for 20 years and died suddenly at the age of 56.
They will raise money for the Myasthenia Gravis Association which helps with the discovery of improved diagnostic techniques and better treatment and ultimately to find a permanent cure for the disorder.
The brothers will be joined along the way by friends and family members and have so far raised more than £3,500.
Tom, 25, now lives in Reading where he works as an accountant for Ernst and Young while Ben, 24, works for Admiral in Newport.
Their mum Jacquie McKenzie said: "Graham was a great inspiration to Tom and would have be very proud of him for undertaking such an arduous physical task."
The brothers are expected to finish the challenge on June 4.
