POLICE in Ebbw Vale have managed to reduce car damage in a problem area after street lights were kept on for longer than the usual time.
There were reports of several cars being damaged or broken into in Aynho Place car park, where the street lights are switched off after 1am.
Ward police officers contacted Blaenau Gwent Council to extend the cut-off time, which has led to a reduction in the number of cars damaged.
