A NEWPORT man will exhibit his work at a photography festival for leading UK and international photographers which he has helped organise.

Glenn Edwards, originally of Malpas, will be exhibiting pieces including Africa Against All Odds at the Eye International Photography Festival at Aberystwyth Arts Centre at the end of this month.

The display features pictures from more than 80 trips he has made to Africa, visiting 17 different countries for journalistic and charity work.

Different aspects Mr Edwards has discovered during his trips are featured in the exhibition.

He said: “I just have a passion for Africa and have grown to love it.”

Mr Edwards had been involved in the International Ceramics Festival which is held at the Aberystwyth Arts Centre in previous years and decided it would be a good venue to hold a photography festival.

Other Gwent photographers exhibiting include Roger Tiley, of Crosskeys, and Magnum photographer David Hurn, of Tintern, who also set up the school of documentary photography in Newport. Both photographers will also be speaking at the event about their work and experiences.

The festival runs from June 29 to July 1.
