NEWPORT estate agent Alan Darlow says he is appealing a decision by the courts which told him to pay £1,265.
Darlow, 61, of Glenusk Road, appeared at Cwmbran Magistrates Court on Thursday for a trial.
Darlow was accused of failing to give information regarding a driver’s identity to Gwent Police on November 23 last year.
This was information relating to the identification of the driver alleged to be responsible for a driving offence.
Magistrates found Darlow guilty of failing to provide the information.
He was fined £600, ordered to pay £650 towards prosecution costs and a £15 victim surcharge and was given six penalty points on his licence.
He told the Argus that an appeal against the decision has already been submitted.
The estate agent said he did not receive the initial documentation and that this, when presented to the court, had the wrong postcode for his address.
He said: “We’re appealing it.”
