YOUNGSTERS got up close and personal with members of the animal kingdom at the weekend to celebrate Wales Biodiversity Week.
Families flocked to Tredegar’s Bryn Bach Park for a chance to learn about a variety of wild animals including short-clawed Asian otters Belinda and Rudi, as well as owls, bats, amphibians and reptiles.
There was also bat box making, face painting and nature trails around the reserve at the Go Wild event, organised by Blaenau Gwent’s biodiversity partnership, the Countryside Council for Wales and the Valleys Regional Park.
Go Wild is one of the largest events taking place in Gwent during Wales Biodiversity Week, which aims to promote biodiversity and its conservation.
