THREE Newport men are due to appear in court in September, charged with conspiracy to supply heroin, after £200,000 worth of the drug was seized by police.
Gareth Jarvis, 27, of Gaskell Street; Richard Conibeer, 23, of Fernside, Lliswerry Road, and; Carl Matthews, 39, of Gaskell Street, all appeared at Newport Crown Court yesterday for a preliminary hearing.
All three are charged with conspiracy to supply the class A drug in Newport between July 7 and December 1 last year.
Jarvis is also charged with a second offence of conspiring to supply heroin between January 31 and July 2 last year and with producing cannabis between September 18 and December 1 last year.
Conibeer is charged with being concerned in the production of cannabis between September 19 and November 30 last year.
Judge Patrick Curran QC remanded them in custody.
They will appear in court for a plea and case management hearing on September 14.
