MORE than 70 people abseiled down Newport's iconic Transporter Bridge this weekend to raise money for a Welsh cancer charity.
Participants, who came from across South East Wales including Newport and Cwmbran, had to raise a minimum of £80 each to take part in the abseil on Saturday.
Verity Imm, community fundraiser for Tenovus, said participants had smashed their targets for the fundraiser, which took place as part of male cancer awareness month.
Ms Imm said it is hoped that the event will raise around £8,000.
"We had fabulous support, it was a really good day and we're really pleased with the results," she said.
