BLAENAU Gwent council wants to hear views on services for children with additional learning needs (ALN).

Over the next 18 months, the council wants to hear from pupils, parents, members of the community and other interested stakeholders as part of the process of modernising the service.

Last year’s Estyn report on education services across the borough identified the need to improve services for learners with additional learning needs.

In response, a review of ALN provision has taken place and an informal consultation on the proposed closure of the Additional Learning Needs Unit at Bryngwyn Primary School from August 31, 2013, has begun.

The informal public consultation document can be found at blaenau-gwent.gov.uk
