IT COULD be you emerging £100,000 richer if you bought a National Lottery ticket in Monmouthshire at the start of the month.

EuroMillions players are being urged to check their numbers as a prize of £102,891.70 has not yet been claimed.

The search is on for the winner of the life-changing money, who matched the five main numbers and one lucky star in the EuroMillions draw on June 8.

Anyone who believes they have most of the all-important numbers- 5, 11, 22, 34, 40 and the lucky stars, 9 and 11, needs to claim the prize before it is given to The National Lottery Good Causes by the end of the year.

The initiative has funded thousands of projects in sectors such as the arts, education and environment with money unclaimed by the 180-day deadline- which, for the Monmouthshire winner, is December 5.

On the day of the EuroMillions draw, Euro 2012 kicked off in Poland and the Ukraine, while non-football fans may have gone to see a production of La Bohéme by the Welsh National Opera at the Wales Millennium Centre.

The National Lottery is hoping little details may jog the memory of the winner, who may have hidden the ticket in a lucky place and not yet checked the numbers.

"Try checking in the pockets of clothing, in wallets, bags and down the back of the sofa - someone out there could literally be sitting on a fortune!" a National Lottery spokesman said.

"We have the champagne on ice and our fingers crossed that the lucky winner comes forward to claim their win."

Anyone who believes they are the winner should call the National Lottery Line on 0845 910 0000.
