SCHOOLCHILDREN in Abertillery are warning drivers about hazardous parking around their school.
Junior Road Safety Officers at Abertillery Primary School unveiled a bright banner earlier this week as part of their safety campaign.
The banner was designed in a competition held to promote the Green Cone Scheme which was introduced outside the school in a bid to solve the problem of dangerous parking at the school gates.
The school is among a growing number to use green cones in the road to prevent drivers from parking inconsiderately and to give the school crossing patrol officer a clear view in both directions.
Headteacher, Dean Taylor said: "The vast majority of our parents take great care while on the school run. I’m asking that all parents co-operate with this new scheme to ensure the safety of all our children."
