ROMANS will troop through Newport's amphitheatre next month.
Caerleon is hosting a Roman weekend at both the amphitheatre and the National Roman Legion Museum on August 18 and 19.
Roman re-enactment group, the Ermine Street Guard will put on military displays, including horses and Roman siege weapons.
Italy's Ars Dimicandi, an eight-strong group, will show off the skills and violence watched by the Romans and there will also be a gladiator school where people can have a go with a sword.
There will also be stalls showing mosaic making, willow weaving and pottery and a Roman doctor on standby.
Museum manager, Dai Price, said: "We are delighted to be putting this Roman Spectacular on over a whole weekend in August. Come and step back in time to see life 2,000 years ago."
The cost for adults is £4.50, it is £2.50 for children and family ticket is £12.00. Under three's are free and entry to the museum is free.
