SATURDAY'S open day at Magor Marsh reserve has been cancelled.
In a statement, organisers said: "Following inspection of our waterlogged Magor Marsh reserve, we have taken the difficult decision to cancel our Open Day on Saturday 21st July. "The ground is so waterlogged at the moment, that with more rain forecast over the coming few days, the reserve will not be able to dry out sufficiently for the Open Day to continue safely.
"Holding such an event in these conditions would also have a devastating impact on the sensitive wildlife and habitats here. "We apologise for any inconvenience caused, but we hope you understand our decision and will be able to join us for a similar event in the Autumn."
