A CWMBRAN school was named winner of a local ‘schools in bloom’ competition.
Nant Celyn Primary School won the Cwmbran community council competition after pupils were asked to plant some flowers, which they then had to look after over a couple of months.
Year 1 pupils Aimee Pask and Amelia Lewis, both six, looked after the plants for the school and were chosen the overall winners.
Eco co-ordinator Helen Stent said: “They loved looking after the plants and really enjoyed it.”
The school has also recently been awarded its first green flag, a national award for public and community parks and green spaces.
