A WOMAN appeared in court charged with dishonesty offences allegedly linked to Gwent drug crime.

Tracey Doherty, 51, of Blaisdale View, Bristol, pleaded not guilty to four counts of converting criminal property, two counts of possessing criminal property and four counts of fraud when she appeared via video link at Newport Crown Court yesterday.

Six others, Josef Chatham, 42, of Rockside Drive, Roger Warnock, 64, of Flaxman Close, Clive Shorney, 56, of Coombe Lane, Felicity Walker, 28, of Cerimon Gate, William Perkins, 49, of Cecil Way, all Bristol, and Jason Lynch, 42, of Powell Drive, Llanharan, were not present, but have previously denied their involvement in the same case.

Warnock and Shorney have pleaded not guilty to four counts of converting and transferring criminal property.

Chatham has denied two counts of perverting the course of justice and two counts of entering or becoming concerned in a moneylaundering arrangement.

Walker, Lynch and Perkins also deny entering or becoming concerned in a moneylaundering arrangement.

All defendants are due to go on trial on September 3 at Newport Crown Court.
