SCENE: The overturned Vauxhall Corsa on Chepstow Road this morning
A MAN was charged with drink driving following a crash in Newport in the early hours of this morning.
The blue Vauxhall Corsa was the only car involved in the crash, on Chepstow Road close to Eveswell Primary School at around 4.20am. The car crashed onto its side.
Fire crews from Maindee and two from Malpas were sent to the scene to help secure the car, but no-one was trapped.
Gwent Police said following the crash, a 21-year-old man from Cwmbran was arrested and charged with drink driving. He will appear before Cwmbran Magistrates Court on August 3.
