A REFURBISHED 100-year-old building in Pontllanfraith is now a centre for charity Groundwork Caerphilly.
The charity has worked for more than 21 years within the communities of Caerphilly County Borough helping organisations, groups and individuals create better neighbourhoods, improve livelihoods, build skills and job prospects and to live and work in harmony with the environment.
The Ty Mynyddislwyn Environment Centre was opened by Caerphilly County Borough Mayor Gaynor Oliver and showcased the work carried out during the redevelopment of the former Mynyddislwyn Urban District Council Offices, which were built in 1913.
Housing a wide range of new facilities, the site also includes a kitchen for cookery demonstrations, classroom and selfcontained incubation units for local enterprises.
