SCENE: Emergency vehicles at the scene in Rogerstone
PART of the A467 is closed at Rogerstone this afternoon after a lorry crashed into a fence causing damage to nearby parked cars.
Police were called to the southbound carriageway of A467 on the apporach to the Bassaleg roundabout around 1pm.
A force spokeswoman said the male lorry driver suffered minor injuries but noone else was hurt.
Eyewitnesses reported a diesel spill on the road and the fire service are in attendance.
A resident of the nearby Myrtle Drive estate said the collision sent debris from a concrete crash barrier flying through the air causing damage to cars.
