First published in News

TWO people were rescued from the River Usk last night.

South Wales Fire and Rescue Service were called to Castle Bingo, Usk Way, Newport, at 8.17pm, following reports two people were in the water nearby.

The first casualty was rescued using throw lines and a technical rescue boat from Malpas fire station, followed by the second person, who was on a stranded jetski.

The operation took just over half-an-hour to complete and no medical attention was required.
