FOLLOWING a search of the Usk, firecrews found the ‘jumper’ to be a toy doll.
But at 4.41 fire control received the message that one toy doll had been recovered from the river, with a spokesman confirming the doll was back on dry land.
4.20pm
Police and firefighters are searching the River Usk this afternoon after reports came in of a person having jumped from the Town bridge.
Fire crews received a call at 4.01pm and are at the scene with a vehicle each from Maindee and Duffryn, a rescue tender and rope rescue unit from Malpas. A larger boat from Malpas and rope rescue unit from Barry are also on their way.
