Gwent Police are appealing for help after an armed robbery in Newport on Saturday.
At around 9.45pm a man entered the Sovereign Stores on Corporation Road and threatened a member of staff with a knife and demanded money from the till and cigarettes.
He then escaped on foot in the direction of Kemp Park.
The victim was left uninjured but shaken.
The offender is described as white, aged 19/20, of slim build and approximately 6ft tall. He had dark grey, dark eyes and what was described as a "gaunt" face and red cheeks. He was wearing a dark coloured Nike hooded top, blue jeans and white trainers and spoke with a local accent.
It is believed the offender could have been outside the store for approximately 30 minutes before the incident.
Officers are investigating the incident and appeal for anyone who was in the area between 9pm and 10pm and saw anything suspicious to contact them on 101.
