An intruder broke into a house in Pontllanfraith while its owners were inside.

Police arrested a 28-year-old man from the Blackwood area on suspicion of aggravated burglary following the incident at a property on Bryn Road, Pontllanfraith on Tuesday morning.

At about 5.30am, a man entered the property, through an insecure door. The man was disturbed by the occupants and the man ran off from the property in the direction of Gelligroes Road.
