Fire crews launch River Usk rescue

Fire crews attend an rescue on the River Usk at Newport earlier this week
A RESCUE mission is underway to help a man stuck on mud flats on the banks of the River Usk in Newport.
Fire crews from Malpas, Maindee and Barry were called to help the man at 3.41pm.
A spokeswoman for the fire service said the man was stuck standing in water along the stretch of water near Castle Bingo on Usk Way.
Firefighters are using two rescue lines and the fire service boat has also been launched.

this is why ppl who suffer mental health issue dont seek help do u really think this man did it for fun it was most probly the fact he couldnt cope anymore would u say the same thing if this man had cancer doubt it u be saying how brave he is watching someone who is fighting the feelings they have and punishing themselfs for feeling that way and worrying about the hurt it causes other is something i wouldnt wish on anyone walk a day in there shoes than make your comment

Rescue Services were called. They have better things to do than go and rescue idiots who go swimming the what is known as the second dangerous river in the world. Charge him the cost of the rescue which will be in the thousands. The cost incurred by the rescue service has been wasted. Charge him then maybe other people will relise that those who do stupid idiotic actions should suffer with being charged.
