A BABY who was born three weeks premature was the centre of attention at his dad's graduation ceremony.

Proud dad Robin Sharp was delighted his son made it to the event on Thursday and grandmother Sheridan Sharp even made a matching baby-sized gown and mortarboard for Jaxon to show off.

Little Jaxon was born three weeks early on September 3 and weighed just 5lb 11oz. Despite the initial worry his early appearance caused, Jaxon and mum Lorna were both well enough to attend Mr Sharp's graduation ceremony at the University of Wales, Newport, on September 6.

Mr Sharp, 30, from Chepstow, gained a HND and 2:1 BA in Business and Management, despite having left school at 15 due to his dyslexia.

At the graduation ceremony in Caerleon, Jaxon found himself and his outfit in high demand for photos with staff and other graduates.

Proud grandmother Mrs Sharp said: "Jaxon is the image of his dad at a similar age and it seemed right that he should look like his dad, especially after Robin worked so hard at University to get a good degree."

Husband and proud grandfather Chris Sharp said: "We are very proud of both of them, and little Jaxon is fantastic."
