A GWENT Police officer was found dead yesterday in Ebbw Vale police confirmed today.
The 32-year-old man was found by ambulance crews after they were called to an address on Lillian Grove yesterday.
Gwent Police were yesterday at 1.54pm and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death, which is being treated as unexplained. Officers are not looking for anyone else in relation to the incident.
A report is being prepared for the coroner, and the IPCC has been notified.
Gwent Police Deputy Chief Constable Jeff Farrar said: "This is a tragic situation and our thoughts are with the officers’ family at this very difficult time. We are currently investigating the circumstances of the death and would appeal to anyone who might be able to assist to contact Gwent Police by dialling 101."
