Fantastic news from the Welsh Government on the Circuit of Wales development.

On Friday it was announced that the Welsh Government was "mindful to grant" an application to allow the firm behind the project to take over common land for the track at Ebbw Vale.

This is the news we have been waiting for and hopefully the last of the legalities to be finalised to enable the building work to get off the ground.

Blaenau Gwent Council granted the planning application for the site more than two years ago yet complicated checks and balances have taken a long time to be completed.

We must make sure in the future that these processes can be expedited to ensure lengthy delays do not leave game-changing projects in limbo.

But let's not take away from the announcement, this is a huge step forward and I look forward to its completion for the benefit of our economy, tourism industry and our workforce.

On Friday, September 25 I will be holding a Macmillan coffee morning with Welsh For Adults and Aneurin Leisure at the Learning Action Centre, Ebbw Vale.

Everyone is free to pop along for a cake and a cuppa to help raise money for this good cause.
