TEN-YEAR-OLD schoolgirl Maddy Hiscocks will march down the hallowed turf of Wembley Stadium with Newport County players, cherishing dreams of seeing her team return to the Football League after winning our Argus competition.

The Ringland Primary pupil will be the official Exiles mascot leading out the team onto the Wembley field on Sunday for the momentous Conference playoff showdown with Wrexham.

Maddy, of Ringland Circle, Newport, won a chance of a lifetime to represent County for the all-Welsh clash that could see her home team promoted to the Football League for the first time in a quarter of a century.

Her mum Sharon, 43, said: "It's fabulous. She loves County, loves football and goes to games with her dad.

"She went to school crying, she ran to school. She couldn't wait to tell everybody.

"She can't believe she's going. It's a dream come true. She'll remember that for the rest of her life. It's Wembley."

Her family also won a pair of tickets to watch the match at English footballÕs headquarters courtesy of Newport County AFC in partnership with the Argus.
