SUCCESS: Celebration of Cwmbran and its communities was held on March 4 hosted by Councillor Kebba Manneh JP, at Greenmeadow Golf Club.

MC for the evening was Reverend Canon Harald Thomas MBE, grace was said by Reverend Victoria Ashley.

Entertainment was provided by Torfaen Sea Cadets Band followed by a presentation on the work of Cwmbran Street Pastors by Terry Jenkins, Cwmbran Salvation Army.

Councillor Kebba Manneh’s speech of thanks was responded to courteously and wittily on behalf of the guests, by Torfaen’s MP Mr Nick Thomas-Symonds.

Proceeds from the raffle and donations were for the MS Society.

Councillor Manneh spoke in praise of community groups work in Cwmbran:

“It is wonderful to share this splendid evening with so many people from so many different walks of life, all of whom contribute so much to life here in Cwmbran. Like many public sector bodies, the council is faced with changing and challenging times. More than ever we see the need to embrace this change, collaborating with others to deliver new solutions. It therefore gives me particular pleasure this evening to welcome some of the groups and individuals whose contribution to the community we have enjoyed this year, such as the Sea Cadets, whose display this evening I enjoyed so much. I would like to say a big thank you to all for supporting my charity this year - which is the MS Society, Torfaen branch. I would also like to thank the many local organisations and individuals who have donated the wonderful prizes: Councillor Tom Matthews, Cwmbran Bowls Club, The Cwmbran Florist, our friends from the Gurkha community, Newport Gwent Dragons, Pro copy, the John Fielding (Wetherspoons) and Ice Hair Company.”
