CHOIR: The City of Newport Male Choir have won themselves many new friends and enhanced their reputation for fine singing following a four day visit to Bournemouth.
The highlight of the tour was a joint concert with The Dorset Police Male Voice Choir, held at St Ambrose Church. All proceeds were donated to Victoria Education Centre, supporting children aged 3 to 25 with physical/neurological conditions.
The choir enthralled a packed house and raised over £2000. The music was varied demonstrating the choirs versatility. They also seamlessly performed several joint pieces with the police choir.
The Dorset Police Choir were excellent hosts and to the delight of other hotel guests joined the Newport Choir at their hotel for some extra singing and socialising.
If you would like to join, a warm welcome awaits you. Practice sessions are held at the YMCA ,Newport, on Monday or Thursday nights from 7.30pm to 9.30pm.
