Newport and Cwmbran stores hit as HMV goes into administration
MUSIC store HMV is appointing an administrator, thousands of jobs at risk across the UK.
The chain, which has shops in Newport and Cwmbran, will appoint Deloitte to keep its 239 stores in the UK and the Republic of Ireland open while it assesses the business and looks for any possible buyers.
The company employs around 4,350 people.

If they'd adapted and built on the 'hands on shop browsing' fraternity.....and incorporated a coffee shop where people could meet...listen to music...and browse...they may have survived....there's an increasing group of older retired people who want to socialise along with shopping....instead of following the old model of the high street.....retailers need to 'think outside the box'....and that includes the council..who still have a blinkered idea of a city centre.

and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a Public Sector Worker.
Then IDS came for the unemployed,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't unemployed.
Then IDs came for the low paid,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't paid.
Then IDS came for me, the private sector and there was no one left to speak for me.
