Schools would never shut at one time. Elf and safety squads are taking over. Pathetic 3 days after the snowfall..

The Council have no obligation to do the footpaths, only the highways they are responsible for.

as a matter of fact i have cleared mine and my neighbours paths. its the pavements outside other peoples houses that are icy and dangerous, foot bridges that kids have to walk over to get to and from school they are the problems. i am not a slacker as you say i am a very hard working single parent of twins who walk to and from school every day day.

Why did the numbskull in charge of Pontypool College actually open the place. The Car park was covered in snow and unsafe.

.....yes Cameron's 'Big Society' at work not.....I cleared outside my house as dd one or two others......being a main thoroughafare to St Julians.....which was like the Cresta Run....for anyone who tried to walk on the pavement...the other alternative was for the kids to walk down the edge of the road......and how many have the sense to walk facing on coming traffic.....not many.
On the Wales news the RGH was reported to have a large increase i A&E due to falls.........it's not H&S...just the council leaving pedestrians to fend for themselves....
I bet the Old Green footpath past the castle hasn't been cleared.....
Luckily for me...now I superfast broadband and get 62 meg.....I can work from home.

Simple solution - buy some cheap snow studs that fit over shoes or wellies- no problem walking then even on ice.

Woodgnome, warra tidy idea, put em studds in nippers shoes and then the got cutting grips like. Tidy, then they can make sparks in da playground and ave a laugh. Moaners can splash some hard earned on em.

I haven't cleared outside my house because I don't want scumbags walking past it quite frankly, I live in Maesglas.

Gwent does not exist. It was a failed local government experiment. Born 1974 to universal hatred. Died 1996 - SIXTEEN YEARS AGO!
