A BETTWS beauty queen and her friend are organising a series of events to raise money for BOBATH Children’s Therapy Centre Wales.

Sarah Abdullah, 22, was crowned Miss Newport last month, and also won the Beauty With A Purpose prize for raising more money for charity than any other contestant.

Now she and her friend, Charlotte Beese, from Langstone, are aiming to raise more money for a good cause, and they began with a pamper party on Friday night.

The party, held at the Hilton Hotel, Newport, involved guests receiving manicures, pedicures, eyelash extensions, spray tans and massages.

Miss Abdullah said: “We provided refreshments and played some party games, and we gave goody bags to people as they left, which included chocolate and sweets, and haircare and moisturiser samples.

“We sold raffle tickets as we obtained some fantastic prizes from businesses, family and friends, including a camcorder, gift vouchers, beauty treatments etc, but we are still looking to obtain more.”

The event raised £166.
