THE former leader of the Labour party Lord Kinnock is to go to the funeral of a former Islwyn councillor next Wednesday, and not Baroness Thatcher's.
Lord Kinnock's office said that he had promised he would go to the funeral of his friend Olga Griffiths before the passing of Lady Thatcher.
The two funerals are taking place on the same day. Lord Kinnock was formerly Islwyn MP.
Olga Griffiths, former Islwyn borough councillor, died suddenly on March 29 at home, and her funeral is set to take place on Wednesday at Tabernacle Baptist Church, Newbridge.
