EIGHT people arrested in connection with the disappearance of Newbridge man Kyle Vaughan had their bail extended until September.

Two men arrested on suspicion of murder and one arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice have been bailed until September 9.

Two men arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender and a woman arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice will answer bail on September 21.

A woman and a man arrested on suspicion of murder must answer bail on September 11.

Police launched a murder inquiry after a silver Peugeot 306 belonging to Mr Vaughan, 24, was found on the A467 between Risca and Crosskeys on December 30 last year.

Since Mr Vaughan’s disappearance family and friends have organised a search of the area where his car was found, set up a Facebook page with more than 17,000 members to raise awareness, launched a poster campaign and leaflet drop, and in March organised a walk in Newbridge to highlight the search.

Crimestoppers is offering a £5,000 reward to anyone who passes information to the charity's helpline, which leads to an arrest and conviction.
