STILL MISSING: Ben Caplan, pictured with his baby son Jude, was last seen in Caerleon at about 11pm last Saturday night after an evening out with friends
NEWPORT RFC were among those to help with the search for missing Ben Caplan at the weekend.
Argus reporter Jen Mills visited Rodney Parade on Saturday during the game against Cardiff to hand out posters of Mr Caplan who was last seen on December 7.
An announcement was also made over the tannoy during the game to appeal for help in finding him.
Meanwhile a message was posted on the 'Help find Ben Caplan' Facebook page yesterday calling on people to carry out searches in the Crickhowell area after the page said a sighting of Mr Caplan had been reported in the area.
The message read: "Please guys if you can help please post your names and if you know the area well please help us find Ben and bring him home."
Mr Caplan, 30, who works in circulation for the South Wales Argus, was last seen on Saturday December 7 in Caerleon after a night out with friends. His wife Danielle reported him missing the next day when he failed to return home.
Mr Caplan lives in Bond Street, Newport, with Mrs Caplan and six-month old son Jude and five-year-old step son Evan.
There have been a number of reported sightings around Gwent since his disappearance but none have been confirmed.
Severn Area Rescue Association continued to search the river over the weekend and the South Wales Argus called on organisations and businesses to join the search.
The social media campaign has continued to grow and Argus editor Kevin Ward has made appeals on local radio stations.
Posters of Mr Caplan can be downloaded from the Argus website and have been put on notice boards around the civic centre and in all Newport buses as well as in a number of pubs in Caerleon, including The Hanbury Arms and Bolero's Bar where Mr Caplan was last seen.
Mr Caplan is described as white, 5ft 9in tall, of a slight build with shoulder length straight brown hair. He has tattoos on both arms as well as his back and chest. He is originally from Glasgow and has a Scottish accent.
Anyone with any information is asked to call Gwent police on 101 quoting log 295 08/12/13.
