OMG...I just don't believe it! It was less than a year ago that the supremely talented Mel Smith died unexpectedly too and at a much too young age. Another wonderfully talented actor and comedian gone way before his time. RIP Rik - you'll always be one of the greats.

Rik playing Kevin Turvey is the first thing I remember him appearing in. I think it was on a kick up the 80's. Loved The young Ones and Bottom. RIP Rik.

I saw Bottom Live decades ago. I laughed so much it hurt - one liners, slapstick and genuine comedy brilliance.

My fave was Filthy Rich and Catflap, just one glorious series made of an absolute gem.

As lord Flasheart would say, WOOF!

Have the complete box set of New Statesman and watch it regularly... over & over. I went to see Rik many years ago in Bottom:Hooligan's Island and then a few years ago in his up to date version of New Statesman, superb. He's hilarious live, so much energy and quick wit.
