Just how many people's lives do they need to disrupt before the traffic census has gathered enough information to tell the powers that be what they should already know - traffic on the main routes into and out of Newport is bad during the rush hour, and holding surveys on these routes makes it worse.

I was filing it away and it fell on my head - sorry, I feel a very politically incorrect old Bernard Manning joke coming on:)

LOL:) Talking of detours, I took a Dragon Taxi recently and ended up getting out a few streets before my own as despite detailed instructions I don't think he genuinely understood what I was saying so I thought it would be easier for both of us if I just got out where he stopped. Fair enough, he got the correct road though. I tipped him as it's the done thing, but admittedly felt a bit stupid afterwards!

If they want to spend taxpayers money and cause mayhem, then use a bit of common sense and do it by filling the potholes in instead.
