THE eighth Wales Fair Trade Fair returns to Abergavenny next month.
The event, which will be held in the Market Hall on October 5, is the brainchild of Abergavenny couple David and Martha Holman.
The Holmans set up the charity Love Zimbabwe, which carries out life-saving projects in the country, and are committed to promoting fair trade and education in developing countries.
Visitors can browse arts and crafts stalls selling ethical goods from all over the world, as well as sampling African food on 40 stalls in the hall. There will also be African dancing, drumming, Zimbabwean food and live music from Chris Blanchard, Stainless Steve and the Bollywood dancers.
On the eve of the fair a fundraising concert will be held in the Borough Theatre. Performances include blues musician Mike Parker, Zim Voices, and headline act Baraka- a unique combination of musicians from Ghana, Senegal, Germany, Dominica and Ireland.
The concert begins at 7.30pm on October 4. Tickets are £15 from the theatre box office. The fair takes place between 10am and 4pm. Entry is £1.
