ANYONE who has met Emily Clark will agree she is a remarkable young woman.
The 17-year-old Croseyceiliog Comprehensive School pupil was last year given the devastating news that she had a form of blood cancer.
It would be easy for anyone of any age, let alone a teenager, to simply feel sorry for themselves after receiving such news.
But not Emily.
Alongside debilitating bouts of treatment, she has thrown herself into campaigning for cancer charities including the Teenage Cancer Trust.
Indeed, so impressed with Emily was Mayor of Newport Councillor Matthew Evans that he chose the TCT as one of his charities for his year in office.
He also invited her to his major fund-raising dinner at the Celtic Manor resort, where Emily gave a speech that was spell-binding and inspirational.
Having been given the all-clear earlier this year, Emily’s cancer has now returned and she needs a life-saving bone marrow transplant.
Emily has done so much for others. Now it is time for all of us to do whatever we can for her.
Staring today, the Argus is encouraging our readers to register as a bone marrow donor.
The process is simple, and registering as a potential donor has the potential to change people’s lives for the better.
Do it for Emily.
