THE Newport Monopoly board has made its way across the Atlantic to the White House - with makers saying it could act as a present for the First Lady herself who celebrates her birthday next month.
Following President Barack Obama's visit to the city in September for the Nato summit, the customised edition of the game has now been sent to Washington.
The board features around 30 Newport landmarks including the Celtic Manor Resort which hosted the Nato summit.
Makers of the board said the game is proving "hot property" and has completed a second print-run.
The edition is available at traditional High Street stores including Smyths, Toys R Us, Waitrose, Waterstones, WH Smith and The Works.
It is also widely available online including at amazon.co.uk
Dan Taylor, head of Custom Games at Winning Moves UK - who are producing the board under official license from MONOPOLY owners Hasbro - said: “This board has been one of our most popular anywhere. We feel sending an edition to the White House is the least we can do as the Summit raised the profile of Newport still further, just before we launched this edition."
