IT IS OFTEN said that the best ideas are simple ones.

And we are hoping that the two women who have come up with an easy, no-spill sun cream applicator for children will soon see their idea turn into a business success for them.

Between them, Kellis Aspland and Laura Griffin have seven children.

So who better to know all about how easy it is for children to make a mess while trying to apply all-important sun cream.

And given that in many, if not all, schools children have to apply their own protection on sunny days, their idea seems to be a good practical one.

It has taken the women a lot of work as well as a lot of time and money to get where they are today.

They came up with one idea, realised it didn’t work but instead of being daunted by that setback they just tried something else until they found a solution which did work.

And with help from family, friends and a lot of research and legwork, they are now hoping to get their patented applicator into production and into the shops.

The pair have set up a business

And now they are working with product design students in university in Cardiff to turn their idea into a reality.

We wish them all the very best with this venture.

And we have no doubt that after this one excellent idea others will soon follow.
