A SECOND man has been charged over the crash which claimed the life of Newport teenager Xana Doyle.

The 21-year-old man arrested in connection with the fatal crash on Newport's Usk Way on January 9 has been charged with taking and driving away and vehicle interference.

The man is to appear at Newport Magistrates Court tomorrow.

Friends and family of 19-year-old Miss Doyle will say their goodbyes at her funeral tomorrow.

The teenager, a former Duffryn High School pupil, died from head injuries.

The funeral will begin at 2pm at Newport Cathedral followed by St Woolos Cemetery at 3.30pm.

Her family requested mourners wear traditional funeral dress with a red accessory, marking Miss Doyle’s favourite colour.

Miss Doyle had recently begun working at the Queens Hotel Wetherspoons in Bridge Street, which will be hosting her wake.

The popular teenager was also a trained beautician after completing an apprenticeship.

Her mother previously described her as the “life and soul of everything”, adding: “Xana was a funny, kind and loving daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece, cousin and friend.

“She was never without a smile or a kind word for the people she met.”
