NEWPORT County star Chris Zebroski has been released on bail after appearing in court today charged with assault and attempted robbery during an alleged incident in Swindon.
The Exiles striker, who was the club's top scorer last season, and who lives in Corn Gastons, Malmesbury, appeared before magistrates today. He was charged with the offences, which are alleged to have happened on February 8, yesterday and remanded in custody overnight. He has now been released on bail.
Zebroski had already been due to appear at Swindon Crown Court later this month for sentencing following a road rage incident, and he is now under bail conditions preventing him from entering Swindon until his next hearing on April 17.
Zebroski, described in court as an alcoholic, is also under conditions not to enter any licensed premises in order to prevent further offending, until his next hearing on April 17.
