THE families of crash victims Jordan Thomas and Lee Fox who died on Friday have released tributes as police appeal for new information.

19-year-old Jordan Thomas, known as ‘Bell’, was described my his parents as a “friendly, hardworking and loving lad”.

Heartbroken parents Gary and Michaela Thomas said: “He will be missed forever and always in our hearts.

“He enjoyed hunting, shooting and fishing and enjoyed life to the full all day every day. He can never be replaced.”

The partner of Lee Fox, 35, who was the other victim in Friday’s crash, said he was a “loving boyfriend, father, stepfather and friend to many”.

Kim Russell, Mr Fox’s partner, said: “You touched everybody you met, always ready with a helping hand and a joke.

“You had overcome so much these last two years and had everything to look forward to. You may be gone from our sight but you will always be in our hearts xx.”

The two men, both from the Abergavenny area, were pronounced dead at the scene following the crash at around 10.54pm on Friday, January 8 on the B4598 near Hardwick.

The collision involved two vehicles, a blue Toyota Celica and a red Citroen C2. There were two occupants travelling in each vehicle.

Two men aged 20 and 24, also from the Abergavenny area, were also taken to hospital and were arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

They have now been granted police bail, pending further enquiries.

The headteacher of King Henry VIII School in Abergavenny, where Mr Thomas was a student, also released a statement earlier today.

Elspeth Lewis said: “Our sincere thoughts are with the families and friends of Jordan Thomas who was involved in Friday night’s tragic incident.

"We can confirm that Jordan was a highly regarded student when he was at King Henry VIII School. The school is offering support and counselling to students and staff who require it at this difficult time.”

The school had already been offering support to students following a crash on Tuesday January 5, which involved two current pupils King Henry VIII pupils and another two former pupils.

Two of them had what were considered to be life-changing injuries last week. One of those is now in a stable condition while the other is stable and awake and awaiting further tests.
