BRACE’S Bread today launches a new £10,000 Community Sport Fund to support grassroots sports clubs, in partnership with the South Wales Argus.

Brace’s Community Sport Fund grants of £250-£500 are available to small sporting organisations across South East Wales and the Valleys.

From kit sponsorship and new sports equipment to sport events and training for coaches, the grants will help keep community sport alive.

Scott Richardson, Brace’s CEO, said: “Our success is down to our loyal and local customers so it’s very important to us to give something back to the local communities that support us. Through the Brace’s Community Sports Fund we hope to give local clubs more opportunities to continue the fantastic work they’re doing.

“The fund isn’t just open to traditional sports groups like football and rugby; perhaps you are a boules club which needs a new green or a dance group requiring travel for a competition.

"We’d love to hear from you too.”

Nicole Garnon, deputy editor at the South Wales Argus, said “We are extremely proud to be supporting Brace’s Bakery in giving back to the community. It’s an excellent idea to reward hard-working clubs for the work they are doing for grassroots sports.”

Interested groups can apply for a slice of Brace’s Community Sport Fund grant now online by completing a simple application form at bracesbakery.co.uk. Applications will close on Thursday by May 26. 2016.
