SEVEN individuals, arrested and bailed on suspicion of arson at Cwmbran’s Coed Eva Primary School, have had their bail dates extended until July.

This is the second time that Gwent Police have extended the bail dates - now Monday July 4, and Tuesday July 5.

The men and boys, aged from 14 to 21, and all from the Cwmbran area, were arrested in January over the blaze, which destroyed the school’s infant and nursery block in the early hours of New Year’s Day.

The dates were previously amended, from Monday February 29, and Tuesday March 1, to yesterday (MON).

Following the fire at the Torfaen school, which occurred in the early hours of January 1, temporary classrooms were installed to allow the children to continue their education.

The group were bailed with the police and fire service carrying out a joint investigation.

Gwent Police have confirmed the bail dates were extended due to further investigations.

Anyone with information about the incident at Coed Eva Primary School can call the police on 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111, quoting log 143 01/01/16.
