NEWPORT West MP Paul Flynn is to write a sixth book, he has revealed.

Writing on his blog Mr Flynn, who has represented the area since 1987, said he planned to pen the book about his experiences as an MP – provisionally titled How to Succeed in Coarse Politics – during the August Parliamentary recess.

The Labour MP said: “The theme is the belief that most political successes are the results of deceptions, misdemeanours, error or luck.

“What was the advice? That it’s dangerous to over-estimate the intelligence of voters.

“That no lie can be so preposterous that the majority of voters will not swallow it.

“It should be a chronicle of my daily experience of being delighted, astonished and humbled by this infinitely diverse organism – The British Parliament.

This will be his first book since 2012.

Mr Flynn’s first book, Commons Knowledge: How to be a Backbencher, was published in 1997. He followed this with the Welsh-language Balgu ‘Mlaen (Cyfres Y Cewri) the following year, and Dragons Led by Poodles: Inside Story of a New Labour Stitch up the year after that.

He followed this with The Unusual Suspect in 2010 and How to be an MP in 2012.
