DISPLAYS of red, white and blue were well to the fore, as participants in Newport parkrun celebrated Team GB's Olympic success by displaying Union Jacks on clothes and bodies.
More than 470 people took part in the latest 5km parkrun around the grounds of Tredegar House, in what has become a weekly routine for many.
But the most recent run was also a chance to acknowledge the achievements of our Olympians earlier this month in Rio, where 67 medals - including 27 golds - were won.
The Newport parkrun has now been in existence for more than five years, but this one officially formed part of the I Am Team GB day, which encouraged residents across the UK to bask in the Olympic glory by taking part in sporting events. For some, this meant taking part in the event for the first time.
In total, there were 16 first timers in the parkrun, which regularly attracts several hundred people on Saturday mornings.
All told, almost 900 people took part in the latest four parkruns in Gwent, with similarly celebratory events also held at Cwmbran, Pontypool, and Bryn Bach Park, near Tredegar.
Forty-nine of the participants overall were first timers, fulfilling the remit of I Am Team GB day to increase newcomers to sporting events.
