MOTORISTS are facing severe delays on the M4 around Newport due to the planned closure of the Brynglas Tunnels.
The Westbound section of the Brynglas Tunnels are closed until 6am on Monday, June 19 while roadworks are carried out.
The M4 is closed between junctions 25A and 26 while traffic travelling west will be redirected along the Southern Distributor Road between Junctions 28 and 24.
Motorists are facing delays of up to 39 minutes on the M4 Westbound between M4 and J25A A4042 with an average of 5mph.
There is also stop-start traffic on M4 Westbound between J24 A48 / A449 (Coldra) and J25 A4042 / B4596 (Caerleon).
The same closure will be in place every other week until Monday, July 17.
