MORE than 250 people attended Monmouth’s first Model Railway exhibition at the weekend.
The event, which was organised by Monmouth Rotary Club, was held at Monmouth Leisure Centre.
The exhibition, believed to be the biggest of its kind in the country, raised £1,300 which will be distributed among local charities.
Visitors were treated to more than sixteen exciting layouts entered from the surrounding area including Barry, Forest of Dean and further afield such as Thornbury.
The layout owners were on hand to demonstrate their skills and talk to other enthusiasts, while visitors had the chance to try their hand at running the stock.
Monmouth Rotarian David Forbes said the event was a success.
“We had between 250 and 300 visitors to the exhibition and due to its popularity will add it on to our annual calendar of events,” he said.
