THE Welsh Affairs Committee chaired by Monmouth MP David Davies is to take evidence on road and rail links between Wales and England next week.

The committee, which also counts Jessica Morden MP for Newport East as a member, is looking into what public road and rail services are available and how much they are used by people in Wales.

It is investigating the potential impact on Wales of plans for a High Speed 2 rail service between London, the Midlands and the North of England and how cross-border transport infrastructure is funded.

The evidence session, which will hear from Mark Youngman of South East Wales regional transport body Sewta among others, will take place on Tuesday.
